Troll bridge

There’s a troll that  lives under this bridge. He doesn’t get angry if you try to cross it, but he does get pissed when cable is out. He really enjoys watching Skins on  MTV and hates to miss an episode.

Astronomy is cool

One of the pixels in this pre-dawn field of pale blue sky represents some planet. I’m guessing Jupiter. Astronomy is cool.

You call that a wall

This is middle-America’s version of a wailing wall. It’s a very pleasant place for a picnic when the weather is nice. People who are unhappy with their jobs leave e-mail messages in the cracks in the wall.

Frozen dinner for raccoons

Misery, to me, is a dark and dreary and cold place. There may be homes nearby, but if you were walking home drunk along this road and slipped on the ice, you have a fair chance of dying from exposure because no one will hear you slurred cries for help. Then the raccoons emerge . . . → Read More: Frozen dinner for raccoons

HHS

This is supposedly a high school, but any self-respecting secondary school would have a nerd’s underwear flapping from the flagpole. The underwear would be jockey-shorts, and torn at the elastic band from an atomic wedgie. Darkly Dawn

The nice thing about getting up before dawn is that if you have to stop the car and pee on the side of the road, no one notices until they have pretty much driven past you. But that’s the only nice thing, and that’s not even all that nice. When it’s cold and dark and . . . → Read More: Darkly Dawn

Feeding Trough

The human herds have to eat somewhere, so bellying up to the counter at Sbarro’s is as good a place as any. If Sbarro changed their dough recipe to use whole wheat, rather than bleached, flour, Americans would be 12% more self-righteous, and whole-food bigots would be 84% more annoying. To increase sales, they are . . . → Read More: Feeding Trough

God’s Lost and Found

At the end of a rainbow you’ll find a pot of gold, and where the clouds rest on earth you’ll find a smartphone dropped by a guy who doesn’t really “get” texting. If you the “jk” means just krapping, you can claim your phone at the front desk.
